Dear Sun Spots: In both the movie “The Fugitive,” starring Harrison Ford, and the movie “The Package,” starring Gene Hackman, were scenes of a parade that had an Irish marching band. I believe both parades were set in Chicago. Who was the drum major of both bands, and just how tall is he? The camera angle made him seem 10 feet tall. – Charles Bouchles, Mechanic Falls.
Answer: According to www.harrisonford.com, the chase through the St. Patrick’s Day parade in “The Fugitive” was a spur of the moment thing. You can see how surprised some of the people are when Ford joins in. Unfortunately, Sun Spots was unable to locate any more information and hopefully readers out there familiar with these movies will be willing to assist you.
Dear Sun Spots: Several months ago, you listed someone who would go to someone’s home to give haircuts if the person was unable to leave home. Could you please reprint this information in the paper? Thank you for your help. – Peggy, Lewiston.
Answer: Contact Lynn Eberhard at Hair at Home, via cell phone at 745-9805 or at home at 782-1271.

Dear Sun Spots: There is an old song with these words:
She was rolling down the tracks doing 90 miles an hour when the whistle began to blow.
He was found in the wreck with his hand on the throttle and scalded to death by the steam.
Does anyone know the rest of the words and also the title of this song? Many thanks. – Bernard Parker, No Town.
Answer: Sun Spots located the following lyrics to the “Wreck of the Ol’ 97” performed by Johnny Cash on the album “At San Quentin”:
Well they gave him his orders at Monroe, Virginia, Said: “Steve, you’re way behind time, “This is not 38, this is Ol’ 97, “Put her into Spencer on time.” Then he turned around and said to his black, greasy fireman, “Shovel on a little more coal. “And when we cross that White Oak mountain, “Watch Ol’ ‘97 roll.” And then a telegram come from Washington station, This is how it read: “Oh that brave engineer that run ol 97, “Is lyin in old Danville dead.” ‘Cos he was going down a grade making 90 miles an hour, The whistle broke into a scream. He was found in the wreck with his hand on the throttle, Scalded to death by the steam. One more time! Oh, now all you ladies you’d better take a warning, From this time on and learn. Never speak hard words to your true-lovin’ husband. He may leave you and never return. Poor Boy.
