RUMFORD – Harold Orino, 84, died Tuesday, March 15, at the Rumford Community Home. He was a resident of Waldo Street in Rumford.

He was born in Rumford, on March 14, 1921, a son of Adolphus and Alice (Luce) Orino. He was a graduate of Stephens High School with the Class of 1939, and was also a graduate of the Massachusetts School of Pharmacy. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He and his wife, Anita, owned and operated the Corner Pharmacy in Rumford until his retirement in 1986.

He was a communicant of St. Athanasius and St. John Church in Rumford. He was also a member of Rumford Falls Aerie 1248, FOE and Rumford Maine Lodge 862 BPOE. He was an avid pool player and also enjoyed the Orino camp in Oquossoc.

He was married in Rumford, on Aug. 22, 1951, to Anita Gallant, who survives him of Rumford.

Other survivors include his brother-in-law, Tom Gallant and his wife, Rose, of Rumford; a sister-in-law, Avis Orino of Rumford; nephews, Mike and Brian Gallant and William Orino; nieces, Alicia Pelletier, Terri Palmer and Barbara Orino; and many great-nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, Arthur Orino; and a nephew, Philip Orino.
