BUCKFIELD – A Buckfield man was arrested early Friday morning on a drug charge after police executed a no-knock search warrant.

Jarrod J. Sawyer, 32, of 44 River Road, was charged with cultivation of marijuana, said Oxford County Deputy Chancey Libby. Sawyer, who was on federal probation “for gun issues,” Libby said, was taken to Oxford County jail and later released on bail.

Libby said that inside Sawyer’s house, police reportedly found a marijuana growing operation.

Seized were 105 marijuana plants and 52 roots and stems of pot plants that had been recently harvested.

Libby said that Oxford County Deputy Brian Landis was tipped off to the growing operation, corroborated it, then obtained the search warrant.

Participating officers included three Maine Drug Enforcement agents, one Maine National Guardsman attached to the drug enforcement agency, four county deputies, two state troopers, and Trooper Adam Fillebrown’s drug-sniffing dog.
