DIXFIELD – Public memorial services for Phoebe Hinman Stowell of Dixfield were held at 2 p.m. Friday from the Richard Bell Chapel at Sugarloaf Mountain with the Rev. Scott Planting of the Fairbanks Union Church, Farmington, officiating.

Private family visitation was held Sunday, March 13, from the Wiles Remembrance Center, 30 Weld St., Dixfield, with her eldest son, John D. Stowell, as celebrant. Winter entombment at the funeral home. Public graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, May 8, at Greenwood Cemetery, Dixfield.

At her memorial service, the congregation sang “America the Beautiful,” “God Bless America” and “Auld Lang Syne.” The piano composition for the processional, recessional and accompaniment was by Suzanne Dunham of Kingfield. A solo, “Ode to Joy,” was performed by New Portland resident, Nan Berry.

Grandchildren Nora Stowell and Tyler Stowell recited the 23rd Psalm and 121st Psalm, respectively. Remembrances were given by Richard “Dick” Hinman, John M. Christie, Sugarloaf general manager from 1965 through 1968, and John D. Stowell.

Following services, all were invited to a family reception at the Sugarloaf Inn. Service arrangements were in the care of the Wiles Remembrance Centers.
