LEWISTON – The wedding of Melissa Richards and Jamison G. Leavitt was held at 1 p.m. on Oct. 2 at Saints Peter and Paul Church in Lewiston. The Rev. Robert Lariviere officiated at the ceremony.

Mrs. Leavitt is the daughter of Timothy and Anita Richards of Auburn. Mr. Leavitt is the son of Gard and Sandra Leavitt of Auburn.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. Julie Preston, friend of the bride, was maid of honor and bridesmaids were Wendy Leavitt, and Rhonda Allen, sisters of the bridegroom, Elizabeth Lidstone, Jennifer Thomas and Jennifer Hould, friend of the bride, and Mihoko Richards, the bride’s sister-in-law.

Gard Leavitt was best man for his son and ushers were Jim Allen, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, Ryan Richards, brother of the bride, Mike Hayward, Ben Gautier and Jamie Sullivan, friends of the bridegroom, and Jim Camire, cousin of the bridegroom.

A reception followed at Martindale Country Club in Auburn, after which the couple traveled to Aruba. The couple is residing in Minot.

The bride is a 1996 graduate of Edward Little High School and a 2000 graduate of LeMoyne College in Syracuse, N.Y. She is employed as a social worker for the Maine Department of Health and Human Services.

The bridegroom is a 1992 graduate of Edward Little High School and a 1996 graduate of the University of Maine at Orono. He is employed as credit manager at Seafax Inc. in Portland.
