FARMINGTON – Loretta M. Hall, 90, longtime resident of Wilton, died Sunday morning, March 20, at Edgewood Rehabilitation and Living Center in Farmington.

She was born June 17, 1914, in Rangeley, a daughter of the late Gard R. and Mary Ann (McCarthy) Hinkley.

She was a graduate of Farmington High School, Class of 1932, and was a 1934 graduate of Farmington State Normal School.

On June 29, 1946, she married Merle M. Hall in Farmington.

Over the years, she worked at Farmington Shoe and Bass.

She was a past-master of Mystic Valley Grange in East Dixfield and was active in the State Grange.

She enjoyed knitting, fishing and traveling to Grange meetings around the state.

She is survived by two sons, Lawrence H. French and his wife, Geraldine, of Farmington, Merle “Hunkey” A. Hall and his wife, Lynne, of Strong; a daughter, Kathryn Mortero and her husband, Victor, of Jay; a daughter-in-law, Freida French of Elizabeth City, N.C.; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband she was predeceased by her first husband, Kenneth L. French Sr.; two sons, Kenneth L. French Jr. and Lloyd French; and her longtime companion, Harry Boyer.
