RUMFORD – The merry men of Sherwood take to the stage in the Mountain Valley High School theater arts class production of “Robin Hood” on Wednesday and Thursday, March 23 and 24, in Muskie Auditorium.

Directed by Meg Doughty, the adventures will begin at 7 p.m. for each performance. Tickets are available at the door at the cost of $3 for students and seniors and $5 for adults.

Elks to install

RUMFORD – The Rumford Lodge of Elks will hold installation of officers on Saturday, March 26, at the lodge, 60 River St. Social hour will be from 5 to 6 p.m., installation from 6 to 7, supper from 7 to 8 and dancing from 8 to midnight.

The supper will consist of prime rib or baked stuffed haddock, baked potatoes, carrots tossed salad, rolls and butter, pies and coffee. The price is $15 for the supper and dance, $10 for the supper and $5 for the dance by Alibi.

Easter services

DIXFIELD – Easter services at the Dixfield Congregational Church are as follows: Good Friday service at 7 p.m. March 25; sunrise service at 6 a.m. Sunday, March 27, followed by Easter breakfast in the annex; Sunday school at 9 a.m.; and regular service at 10 a.m.

Holy Week

MEXICO – Maundy Thursday service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 24, at the Mexico Congregational, UCC, on Main Street. A special service of tenebrae and music will be provided from UCC and UMC joint choirs. All are welcome.

A Good Friday service will take place at 7 p.m. Friday, March 25, at the Rumford United Methodist Church, Linnell Street. A short drama and service of reflection will be offered. All are welcome.

An Ecumenical Easter sunrise service will take place at 6 a.m. Sunday, March 27, at the Mexico Middle School on Highland Terrace Road with the service leadership provided by the Rumford United Methodist Church. Breakfast will follow at the Mexico Congregational, UCC (the Green Church). In case of heavy rain or snow, the service will be held in the Mexico UCC sanctuary at 6 a.m. with breakfast to follow downstairs.

At 10 a.m. Sunday, the “Green Church” will celebrate Easter in the Main Street church. Special music by the choir and the message, “Looking into the Tomb,” by Pastor Ginger will be followed with communion. The public is invited.
