LIVERMORE FALLS – A Livermore man has been hired as town mechanic for $13.40 an hour.

Robert Merrill’s first day on the job is scheduled for Monday, March 28, Town Manager Alan Gove said Monday.

Merrill has worked for R.S. Osgood & Sons in Dixfield and has experience working on heavy equipment and trucks. He has many of the skills, including welding, that selectmen were looking for, Gove said.

Merrill replaces longtime Highway Department mechanic Eddie Black, who had to retire for medical reasons.
