LEWISTON – The Central Maine Boat Show & Sports Fishing Show will be presented April 1, 2 and 3 at the Colisee. The event will run from noon to 8 p.m. Friday; from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday; and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

America’s Best Shows Inc. has made arrangements to buy out the parking lot so people can simply drive right to the Colisee and attend the show.

Major exhibitors include Hamlin’s Sporting and Marine showing Godfrey and Lund; Nadeau’s Marine showing Sylvan and Yamaha jet boats; Hammond’s Lumber showing docking; Ken’s Yamaha, showing G3; White’s Marina Inc. showing Glastron and Starcraft; Clark Marine showing Playbuoy and Princecraft; Mid-Maine Marine and RV Inc. showing Tracker; Reo Marine Service showing Larson and Aqua Sport.

Accessory companies include Air Chair Int., Skin Divers Paradise, Mainely Tubs, Sebago Lake Mortgage and J. W. Awning.

Maine, with its hundreds of lakes and riverbanks, plus 3,000 miles of beautiful coastline, is a boaters paradise for tens of thousands of Maine families. Families have enjoyed boating for generations; and many of the boats that will be exhibited will be multipurpose-use boats – ones appropriate for towing water skis, sports fishing and overnight camping, for example.

Numerous dealers will exhibit pontoon boats, which are becoming a popular source of family fun on the water. Pontoon and deck boats provide a floating platform; and with large outboard engines, they can go fast enough to tow water skiers.

They function well as a floating raft on a lake for swimming and fishing; many families also have picnics and barbecues on their pontoon, aluminum and fiberglass boats.

Other boats in the show will include sports fishing boats and family runabouts.
