WEST BUXTON – The Pine Tree State Country Music Association will hold its annual competition and award show April 17 and May 1 at the Roost on Chicopee Road.

Categories in the competition are: modern and traditional male and female vocalist, bands, duos, gospel singers, instrumentalists, vocal group, songwriter, recording and modern and traditional male and female entertainer.

Artists who wish to enter may use band or track back-up music. These categories are broken down into different age groups such as juniors, adult and seniors.

Winners will receive awards at the show on May 22 at the Roost.

Entry forms are available. The public is welcome at all competitions and shows.

The Dick Curless Memorial Scholarship, show will be held June 5 at the Thompson Community Center in Union. A scholarship is presented annually to a student at Bangor High School to help them follow their career in music.
