SOUTH PORTLAND – The Learning Disabilities Association of Maine’s annual conference will be held Friday and Saturday, April 8 and 9, at the Sheraton Hotel. “Education for All Individuals” is the theme.

Donald Deshler, PhD, will give the keynote speech, “What’s at the Core of Quality Teaching?,” at 9 a.m. Saturday. Deshler is a professional advisor for the National Center for Learning Disabilities and author of “Teaching Content To All” and “Teaching Every Adolescent Every Day.” He will present a workshop, “Closing the Performance Gap with the Content Literacy Continuum.”

A total of 24 workshops will be offered during the two-day conference.

Learning Disabilities Association of Maine is a state nonprofit volunteer organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for individual with learning disabilities and attention disorders. It provides resources, referrals, education and advocacy for individuals and families living with learning disabilities.
