PHILLIPS – Firefighters spent much of Easter Sunday afternoon and evening dousing a blaze in the old pool hall building on Bridge Street.

A Franklin County dispatcher said that flames were reported burning through the roof of the building about the time the blaze was called in, 1:37 p.m.

At 7:30 p.m., firefighters were still at the scene dousing embers and cleaning up.

A state Fire Marshal’s inspector was also at the scene Sunday evening looking into the fire’s cause.

Firefighters from Strong and Salem assisted Phillips firefighters.
