This is in reference to the article in the city edition March 21 headlined “Storms hamper mail deliveries.”

I can only ask, whatever happened to “In sleet, snow or rain …?” One can only wonder what a mailman of 50 years ago would have done in similar, less groomed circumstances. Perhaps other carriers besides the U.S. Postal Service should be considered for important deliveries such as medication if they can’t handle the business anymore.

Don’t the carriers wear boots?
