REACH is a sexual assault support center serving Oxford County and the towns of Harrison and Bridgton. It began in 1981 when a group of local people gathered to discuss the lack of support and services available to victims and survivors of sexual assault and sexual abuse in the area.

In 2004, volunteer advocates and staff assisted 160 through individual (in-person as well as through the 24 hour helpline) and group support. The educator provided awareness education that included anti-bullying presentations to more than 3,000 students. All services are available free.

The Western Maine Women’s Network was formed in 2003 to serve as a resource for women as they build professional and personal partnerships and create a professional environment for all women to become more effective in the business world through networking, education and connections with community resources. For more information about the network call Mariel Geiger, co-chairwoman, at 739-2013 or check out the Web at www.WMWN.org.
