Dear Sun Spots: Seniors-Plus is looking for volunteers to serve as activities coordinators who could organize cards and games in our seniors’ lunch centers in Lisbon, Norway and Bethel. Anyone with an hour or two in the morning, one day a week or one day a month, to help keep seniors active would be appreciated. We also need drivers in the Lewiston-Auburn, Mechanic Falls and Minot areas to provide transportation to seniors for doctors’ appointments, grocery shopping, etc. Meals on Wheels drivers are needed to distribute meals to homebound seniors, one or two hours a week. Drivers are eligible for mileage reimbursement. If interested, please call Connie at (800) 427-1241 or 795-4095, ext. 145. – Connie Belaire, Lewiston.

Dear Sun Spots: I am looking for the words to the song “Coeur de Maman, au Cheveux Blanc.” Hopefully Sun Spots can help me. Thank you. – Alice H., No Town.

Answer: In addition to responses from readers, Sun Spots located the following lyrics and hopes they are the ones you are seeking:

Dear Sun Spots: A few weeks ago you had an article asking for pictures of a flood. I came across a book of the 1987 flood if that would be of some help to the column reader. Please reprint the article, and I will get back to them. – No Name, No Town.

Answer: The only recent column referring to floods was the March 3 column. However, the writer was not seeking photographs. Here is the request:

Dear Sun Spots: While in the process of cleaning and sorting out memorabilia (At 75 years old, it’s time to do this!), I found a booklet published by the Lewiston Daily Sun and Evening Journal in 1936. It was about Maine’s Great Floods. The pictures are outstanding! I wondered if you might know of a collector or historical society that would be interested in it? – Marguerite Moffett, Penacook, N.H.

Answer: In addition to responses from readers, contact Michael Lord at the Androscoggin Historical Society, 2 Turner St., Auburn, (207) 784-0586. It is open from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday.

Dear Sun Spots: I see that you do a great job helping people out so I guess I’ll take a turn. I was wondering if you know of any hunter safety course that is all day on one day. My husband works third shift, and this would be the only way he could do this course. Thanks. – No Name, Greene.
