PORTLAND – “Drunks,” an unflinching look at an AA meeting, will be presented by Mad Horse Theatre April 7 to May 1.

Christine Louise Marshall directs this adaptation of Gary Lennon’s play “Blackout.”

“The play is a respectful depiction of an extraordinary program, and a compelling reminder that, in this tell-all world, there are also millions of people whose stories are told in much quieter places around the corner or down the street,” Marshall said.

The cast of “Drunks” features company members Craig Bowden, Darci LaFayette and Lisa Muller-Jones. Guest artists are Brent Askari, Burke Brimmer, Nancy Brown, Peter Brown, Shannon Campbell, Liz Chambers, Dave Currier, Mike Dow, Cathy Hickson, John Hickson, Chris Horton, Sheila Jackson, Jessica Porter, Tootie Van Reenan and Aurora White.

Performances are Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. from April 7 to May 1; Sundays April 10, 17 and 24 at 7 p.m.; and May 1 at 5 p.m.

Regular ticket prices are $16.

Preview performances are April 7 and 8 for $10.

A buy-one-get-one-free offer is for April 14 and 21.
