LEWISTON – Daniel R. Getchell of Auburn, died April 2, at Central Maine Medical Center.

Born Sept. 2, 1955, he was the son of Elva Cross and Alfred Getchell. He was educated in L-A schools and served for four years in the U.S. Army.

He lived and worked throughout Maine as a handyman, “Jack of all trades.” He enjoyed his family and his best friend, Bowzer, and any outdoor activities. He was planning to begin a trip on the Appalachian Trail from Georgia back to Maine.

Survivors include his companion of 13 years, Tina Desrosiers, of Auburn; his mother, Elva Cross of Auburn; two brothers, Clinton Getchell of Florida and Russell and Cherly of Auburn; sons, Tom Cook and companion, Jessica Parkin, of Winthrop, Matthew and Aaron of Auburn; son, Scott Moody of Mississippi and Melissa Moody of Alabama; grandchildren, Harley, Daniel and Domonick; two granddaughters in Alabama; and anticipating a new grandbaby in December.

He was predeceased by grandparents, Ruth Noonan and Daniel Paul Noonan; and sister, Dorothy Getchell.
