It is finished? Or has it just begun? I’m talking about the gay rights law. The majority of Maine citizens indicated what they wanted in past elections. Voters did not want the gay rights law in Maine. I guess that wasn’t what the members of the state Legislature wanted. They decided, yes, we want this law in Maine whether the public wants it or not.

Recently, I stopped by to chat with a friend of mine, and we talked about this law passing. I said “socialism” and he quickly responded “communism” – as in, goodbye democracy, hello, communism. What is communism? It is defined as “a system of social organization in which goods are held in common.”

This goes beyond goods. The government shall make decisions based on what it wants and what certain groups want. I find that disturbing. It is, indeed, just the beginning.

As far as the gay rights law is concerned, this is not a matter of hatred toward homosexuals. They are not a minority group and should not obtain the same status based on sexual choices. I don’t want to know their choices. But minority groups do obtain federal funding and many other government benefits. They also obtain a stronghold in government decision-making. So, I can understand why homosexuals want that status.

Where am I going with this? Democracy is, indeed, a goner.

What can we do about it? Pray.

What is happening in America is beyond our control.
