Thank you for saluting a wonderful person who used to share her opinions with us all through the Sun Journal editorial page. Patricia Joseph Adams had a keen sense of what she believed in, as well as a very dry sense of humor. She came to work at my law firm nearly 20 years ago, and for a number of those years she was my secretary. You don’t find too many people seeking full-time employment as she did at age 60, nor do they want to work at a full-time and often demanding job well into their 70s.

Even after her “retirement” last year, she merely changed hats and became a part-time law librarian. She had two families. The one she lived with and the one she worked with, and she loved them both.

Pat believed in the phrase that David Brinkley used in writing his memoir, “Everyone is Entitled to My Opinion,” as Sun Journal readers found on many occasions. I doubt that I agreed with any of her expressed political views, but she had mastered the fine art of being able to disagree without being disagreeable.

We could all take a lesson from that, and we are all the poorer for her passing.
