MEDFORD, Mass. – Matt Clement, Jeff Volinski and Chris Decembrele all tallied solo home runs to lead Tufts to a 10-1 rout over Bates in collegiate baseball action Tuesday.

Tufts starter Derek Rice shut out Bates (1-6) for six innings until they broke through in the seventh. Bobcats pinch hitter Brian Buckley smacked a two-out double and scored on single by pinch hitter Alex Maulucci. With their lead cut to 3-1, Tufts exploded for six runs in the seventh to take a 9-1 advatage. Greg Hickey blasted a two-run double and Brian Casey stroked a two-run single during the inning.

The relief tandem of Jeremy Davis, Aaron Narva and Erik Johanson held Bates to just one hit over the final two innings.

Husson 13, Colby 3

BANGOR – Jason Harvey went 4-for-4 with two RBIs to pace Husson to a 13-3 romp over Colby. Justin Spencer chipped in for Husson (6-9) two hits and two RBIs, while Kyle Mathieu added three RBIs.

Robert Webber pitched the first five innings, allowing five hits and two earned runs while notching the win.

Robert Rosenbaum led the way for Colby with two hits and one RBI. Andy Carr also contributed with two hits and three runs scored. Colby reliever Robert Jacob allowed six earned runs in his brief time on the hill and was saddled with the loss.
