LYNN, Mass. – Ernest B. Ward, 56, of Lynn, Mass., died April 1, after a brief illness. He was the husband of Caryl (Capozzi) Ward, with whom he shared 32 years of marriage.

Born in Lewiston, Nov. 14, 1948, son of the late Earl R. and Edna (Fogg) Ward, he was educated in Monmouth schools.

He had lived in Lynn, Mass., for more than 35 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal with four bronze service stars. He was employed for MWRA as a laborer for 20 years. He was a member of the AFSCME, AFL-CIO Local 1242 and enjoyed his free-time at his camp in New Hampshire.

He is survived by his wife; son, Michael; daughter, Wendy; five grandchildren; two brothers, David and Allan of Monmouth; six sisters, Mary Foss of Lynn, Mass., Janice Chass of Watervliet, N.Y., Ava Mason of Litchfield, Anne Wallace of Monmouth, Barbara Crocker of Readfield and Beverly Ward of Winthrop; and many nieces and nephews.
