BETHEL – Western Mountains Senior College will offer two free programs to members in April. Both programs will be held at the Gould Academy, Trustees Auditorium, McLaughlin Science Center.

Reg and Sue Gagnon of Walpole will present a program, “Helping in Haiti,” at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 14.

The Gagnons have traveled to a remote area of Haiti with the St. Boniface Haiti Foundation to become involved in the health and education of the natives for many years.

They will talk about their experiences as house parents to Haitian students attending schools in Port-au-Prince during the four months just prior to the overthrow of the government of Jean-Bertrand Aristide. They will also share their observations on the political situation in Haiti leading to the coup of Feb. 29, 2004.

The Gagnons, who built their retirement home in Walpole after many years of living and working in Massachusetts, share their experiences with interested groups in Maine.

“What You Always Wanted to Know about Wills But Were Afraid to Ask” will be presented by Michael O’Donnell, Bethel attorney, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 26. O’Donnell will explain the ins and outs of wills, powers of attorney and other legal documents.

The programs respond to a need from members for shorter or one-day programs. Anyone in the area age 50 or over and their spouses are invited to join. For more information or to register for either program, call Jackie Cressy at 824-0508.
