FARMINGTON – Registrations are now being taken for Farmington area students, grades four to seven, who would like to join the Farmington Recreation Department Softball Program. Prospective players must have turned the minimum age of 9 before Jan. 1, 2005. Anyone interested should plan to attend the sign-up meeting from 5 to 6 p.m. Monday, April 11, in the Bjorn Gym, Farmington Community Center.

Serving as director for the fourth season will be Lisa Dube. Dube has been appointed as junior varsity coach of the Mt. Blue High School girls softball team.

A standard registration fee of $20 is charged to all players. A non-resident fee of $5 applies to those participants whose parents do not pay taxes to the town of Farmington. An additional $5 visor fee is asked of each participant to help defray the annual cost of supplemental uniform expenses absorbed by the Recreation Department.

Parents are invited to participate in the program by volunteering as coaches and/or umpiring for teams their children are in.

For more information about the softball program, contact the Recreation Department office at the Farmington Community Center or call 778-3464.
