I am writing about the helmet law that some in the Legislature want to pass. I have been riding motorcycles for years, and when I wore a helmet I could not see on the sides of me and I almost got hit on the side a few times.

Helmets are dangerous to wear.

Also, as far as loud pipes on motorcycles, they save lives because people who don’t see the motorcycles at least they can hear them.

I almost got hit three times a year ago, and then I put louder pipes on my motorcycle and I haven’t had to dodge any cars because they couldn’t see me or hear me.

The people they should go after are the people on cell phones who go 15 mph in a 35 mph zone or the ones that go in the other lane or go through red lights because they are on cell phones. These are people who cause accidents and kill other people.

Riders on motorcycles that have loud pipes are trying to save their lives from people on cell phones and people who don’t see us or hear them.

I think the laws that they should leave alone are the seat belt law and the helmet law, and pipes should be able to be loud enough so people can hear the motorcyclist.

Legislators should pass a law against talking on a cell phone while driving, and get tougher on speeders and tailgaters.
