AUBURN – With the leadership of Linda Pavlak, chairwoman of the Development Committee of the St. Dominic Regional High School Board of Directors, and Linda Gallick, a parent, the Reception Committee is planning for the Bishop’s annual reception on Thursday, April 14.

Bishop Richard J. Malone will host the annual Bishop’s Scholarship Reception, the goal of which is to raise scholarship funds to help students attend St. Dominic. The reception will be held in the St. Dominic Commons beginning at 5:30 and continuing through 7:30 p.m.

This year’s honoree will be the Rev. Monsignor Rene Mathieu, former pastor of Holy Cross Parish in Lewiston. Mathieu served as chairman of the Plenary Council of St. Dominic since being named dean of Androscoggin County in 1995.

The Plenary Council is the high school’s highest governing body. Mathieu held the position during one of the high school’s most difficult period. He oversaw a massive fund-raising effort and the construction of the new high school.

Donation for the Bishop’s Reception for Scholarship Assistance is $25 a person. Reservations may be made by calling 782-6911, ext. 2. Tickets will be available at the door the day of the reception.
