LEWISTON – Murielle G. Pleau, 78, of 75 Dumont Ave., died Saturday, April 9, at her home after a long illness.

She was born in Lewiston, Oct. 14, 1926, the daughter of Albert J. and Elise StPierre Guay.

She was educated in local schools and was first married to Albert Roy who predeceased her Sept. 24, 1956.

She later married Roland R. Pleau on Jan. 24, 1959.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a weaver at Bates Manufacturing Co.

She was a member of Holy Cross Parish, Horizon 55, Covenant 50 and the Lewiston Senior Citizens.

She is survived by her husband of Lewiston; two daughters, Jeannine Mercier and her husband, Robert, and Anita Smart and her husband, Brian, all of Lewiston; two sons, Philip A. Roy of Woolwich, and William R. Pleau of Lewiston; three grandchildren, Stephanie Lewis and her husband, Brian, of Auburn, James Mercier of Lewiston, and Daniel Smart of Sarasota, Fla.; two great-grandchildren, Caitlyn and Jacob Lewis; a sister, Yolande Sawyer of El Paso, Texas; two brothers, Gerald and Richard Guay both of Lewiston.

She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Rebecca Mercier, and a sister, Bernice Bissonnette.
