WESTBROOK – Maine credit unions presented a milestone check for $15,000 to Charles Large, executive director of Good Shepherd Food-Bank on March 22 at the Maine Credit Union League office.

The amount not only reflects the number of years that the credit unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger has been raising funds, but is also the largest donation ever that they have given to Good Shepherd Food-Bank.

The donation was given in memory of JoAnn Pike, who founded the Good Shepherd Food-Bank nearly 26 years ago and served as its executive director until February of 2004 when she resigned. Pike died a year ago.

Jon Paradise, league governmental and public affairs manager, presented the check to Large and thanked him and the bank for what they do for the people of Maine.
