I am responding to the many letters that Dr. Klaus Kuck has written to the Sun Journal.

Dr. Kuck lived in Hitler’s Germany and then under Stalin’s Soviet-occupied Germany. He has experienced firsthand what life was all about under the two worst tyrants that the world has every known. He has personally experienced the worst hardships that any human has endured.

Because of these experiences, I feel that we should all listen to what Dr. Kuck has to say about what is good about our country. Over the years, he has been quick to respond to articles or letters written by those who criticize our president and our military. Where would we be today without a strong military? Some people have a short memory when it comes to recalling our history. We must not allow history to repeat itself.

We are fortunate to have someone like Dr. Kuck in our community who, through his letters, keeps us vigilant and reminds us that we do live in a great country.

I, for one, am grateful that we have Dr. Kuck on our side.
