NEWRY – The 15th annual Post-Secondary Fair will be held from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 14, in the Grand Ballroom at the Grand Summit Hotel at Sunday River.

Every April, the Northern Oxford County Area Counselors work together to put on the post-secondary fair. The fair attracts more than 100 college representatives from all over the country and hosts more than 1,000 students from 14 area high schools.

The fair has military, FAME and businesses present as well as colleges to expose students to all of their post-secondary options. For more information, call the local high school guidance office.

Turkey seminar

FRYEBURG – Fryeburg Fish and Game Association will host a member from Maine Fish and Wildlife in the presentation of a turkey seminar.

The seminar will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 14, at the Fair Association conference room, Fryeburg Fairgrounds.

The seminar is free and is designed to make a spring turkey hunt more enjoyable as well as successful.

Registration

HARTFORD – Kindergarten registration and screening for the kindergarten class in the towns of Hartford, Sumner and Buckfield will take place from 8:15 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday and Friday, April 14 and 15.

All children who register must be 5 on or before Oct. 15. All children who will be starting kindergarten next fall, including those enrolled in the pre-kindergarten program, will need to be scheduled for a screening.

To register, contact the Hartford Sumner Elementary School office at 388-2681. Parents should be prepared to provide the child’s name, address, telephone number and date of birth and bring a copy of the child’s birth certificate. students must be registered and screened prior to enrollment.

Sheepfest

DENMARK – The 11th annual Denmark Sheepfest will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 16, at the Denmark Arts Center, 50 West Main St. There will be sheep shearing, vendors, food and music. Worship topic

NORWAY – Worship service at 11 a.m. Sunday, April 17, at the Norway Universalist Church, UU, will be on “Biblical Wars: Echoes are Heard Today in Washington of the Ancient Battle Between John and Thomas about Jesus.” The pastor is the Rev. Joy D. Gasta. All are welcome.
