LEWISTON – Maine Democrats will pay tribute to Dave Adams on Friday with a spaghetti supper.

Gov. John Baldacci, U.S. Reps. Tom Allen and Michael Michaud, and Maine Democratic Party Chairman Pat Colwell are expected to attend the tribute, which begins at 5 p.m. Friday at the Multi-Purpose Center.

“Dave Adams was incredibly dedicated to the Democratic Party and its ideals,” Colwell said in a press release. “Dave was always willing to lend a hand for the Democratic Party and our friends in organized labor.”

Adams died March 3 after a head-on crash on Route 26 in Oxford.

He ran for the state House of Representatives in 2004 and served two terms as an Auburn city councilor. He was a sitting member of the city’s Charter Commission when he died.

“Many in the Lewiston-Auburn community and across the state have fond memories of Dave, and we are honored to hold this benefit dinner for the Adams family,” Colwell said.

Tickets are $5. Proceeds will go to the family to help defray the cost of Adams’ funeral.
