LEWISTON – Jesus Party Ministry Director Sonia Taylor extends a special invitation to area children ages 5 and up to acknowledge the death and celebrate for life of Albert A. Moreau, who served as a volunteer patriotic mentor and promoted God and country at the urban children’s ministry.

The memorial will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, at Jesus Party Headquarters, 291 Bates St.

Moreau served in the U.S. Navy and is laid to rest at the Maine Veterans Cemetery. His grandchildren, Adam, Josh and Brittany, who are actively involved in the ministry, will be presented an American Flag, a photo of their grandfather and the Uncle Sam costume that he wore on patriotic occasions, such as Flag Day, Independence Day, Veterans Day, Memorial Day and 9-11 observances.

In memory of his patriotic spirit, the ministry will teach a history lesson on the beginning of the Revolutionary War on April 19, 1775. Current patriotic mentor, Jerry DerBoghosian, adjutant of Post 22, American Legion, will lead prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance.

Sonia Taylor will sing “Proud to be an American,” and children will observe a moment of silence in honor of Moreau’s dedication to his country. Refreshments will be served. For more information, call 786-5568.
