DIXFIELD – Selectmen had been scheduled to meet with a representative from the Maine Chiefs of Police Association on Monday. However, Town Manager Nanci Allard said Tuesday that Chief Robert Schwartz, the association’s executive director, could not attend Monday’s meeting.

The matter was then tabled to the board’s next regular meeting, at 5 p.m. Monday, April 25.

Selectmen are seeking to meet with the association to learn how the group evaluates police departments, a study estimated to cost between $4,000 and $5,000.

Allard suggested last month that selectmen consider having the group evaluate Dixfield’s police department to decide if it needs more or less personnel.
