OXFORD – Lyndon E. Brackett, 46, of Oxford, died Tuesday, April 12, at his home.
He was born in Norway, on Jan. 1, 1959, the son of Albert H. and Hilda Johnson Brackett. He attended Oxford Hills High School and upon graduation he spent four years in the U.S. Navy. He had been a herdsman and farmer all of his life.
He married Jody Thompson, on Oct. 5, 1980. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a loyal fan of the New England Patriots, the Boston Red Sox and the Boston Celtics.
He is survived by his wife of Oxford; a daughter, Heather Jackson and her husband, Aaron, of South Paris; a son, Albert H. Brackett of Oxford; two grandchildren, Keisha and Garrett Jackson, both of South Paris; six sisters, Alberta Rowe of Tennessee, Marilyn Hanscom of South Paris, Linda Young of South Paris, Cynthia Valley of Norway, Colleen Brackett of Oxford and Bonita Coffin of West Paris; five brothers, Douglas of Otisfield, Albert of South Paris, Joseph of West Paris, Jeffrey of Oxford and Daniel of Norway; his father-in-law, Raymond Thompson of Chesterville; his in-laws, Sharon and Bernie Bumpus of Oxford; a brother-in-law, Lenny Thompson of Oxford; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; a very special cousin, Bobby Brackett; and his best friend, Chet Tracy of Norway.
He was predeceased by a sister, Catherine Taylor, and his parents.
