AUBURN – Fitness World (1) and Scott Thayer Auto (3) are the lone unbeaten teams remaining after this week’s action in the Auburn Rec Men’s Slowdown Basketball League playoffs.

Fitness World defeated GE (4) 74-60 as Christian Gurney netted 24 points and Matt Winslow 18. GE was led by Frank Perry (18) and Carter Edwards (14).

James Whirley scored 23 and Donnie Gayton added 11 as Thayer Auto knocked off Brew Crew (2) 59-46. Joe Harris paced the Crew with 17. Keith Danner was next with 8.

In the losers’ bracket, L-A Dox (6) stayed alive with a 57-43 win over L-A Orphans (7). Verne Paradie led the winner with 22 points. Mark Stubbs added 15. Jake St. Hilaire (11) and Jared Kuvajo (10) led the Orphans.

Rocky Mountain Oysters (9) ousted West Shore (5) 79-75 as Jon Wallingford poured in 29 and Dan Goggin 25. Charles Buker contributed 10. Mike Berry paced the Westies with 19. Larry Jackson added 14 and Mark Pare 12.

Playoffs continue on Monday, April 18. Fitness World (1) will meet Thayer (3) in the winner’s bracket at 6 p.m., with the victor advancing to the championship game. In elimination contests, GE (4) will take on L-A Dox (6) at 7:15, and Brew Crew (2) will meet Rocky Mountain Oysters (9) at 8:30.
