POLAND – Poland Community Church has signed on with Auburn’s Good Shepherd Food-Bank to receive a $500 matching grant from the Sandy River Challenge Grant.

By raising funds this month earmarked for the grant, the church will be credited with $1,000 for food for the Tri-Town Food Bank, 1212 Maine St.

The church is asking for donations of items to sell, cash to sponsor a table and invitations to visit and bring a friend to help the food bank, open year-round to provide individuals and families with food in emergencies. Presently it is helping an average of 12 families a month.

The church will hold a Spring Festival from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 23. There will be cheese, homemade candy, silent auction gifts, white elephant table, Mother’s Day gifts, raffles and baked goods as well as filled and unfilled May baskets. Lunch will be soups and sandwiches.
