RUMFORD – William “Bill” Rideout, 50, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, April 13, in Boston. He was resident of Front Street in Rumford.

Born in Rumford, on June 26, 1954, a son of Elroy and Esther (Cormier) Rideout Jr. He was a graduate of Stephens High School and worked as an area manager for Guilford Rail.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR, and computers, and loved to ride the back roads.

He was married in Mexico, on Sept. 20, 1980, to Pamela Canwell who survives of Rumford.

Other survivors include a daughter, Sarah Rideout, of Norway; his mother, Esther Rideout of Rumford; sister, Jo Ann Rideout of Fairfield; brothers, Thomas Rideout of Gilead, and Peter Rideout of Mexico; nephew, Jake Rideout of Gilead; and a niece, Julia Rideout of Kingfield.
