LEWISTON – Rosamond I. Field, 93, a resident of 158 Russell St., Lewiston, died Wednesday afternoon, April 13, at Russell Park Rehabilitation, after a long illness.

She was born in Auburn, Aug. 19, 1912, the daughter of Robert and Mary (Gifford) Harlow. She attended Auburn schools and was a graduate of Edward Little High School. She continued on in education, graduating from the Farmington State Normal School as an elementary school teacher.

She taught second grade in both Maine and Massachusetts for more than 40 years. Her first teaching position was a one-room schoolhouse on Perkins Ridge in Auburn. She moved back to this area in 1999 to be close to her family.

Survivors include one daughter, Terry Field, of Worcester, Mass.

She was predeceased by her husband, Clayton Field, who died in March of 2001.
