LEWISTON – Albert V. Bukoveckas, 86, died Thursday April 14, at the Montello Manor in Lewiston. He was a resident of the Valley Road in Peru.

Born in Worcester, Mass., on May 24, 1918, he was a son of Edward and Mary (Luksas) Bukoveckas. He attended schools in Worcester, Mass.

He worked for Oxford Paper Co., Israelson Motors, and was a self-employed farmer.

He served in the U.S. Army as a Pfc. from 1942 to 1944.

He was a member of Napoleon Ouellette Post 24 American Legion and Robert Shand Post 1641 VFW.

Survivors include nephews, Mark Bukoveckas of Peru, Raymond Bukoveckas of Great Falls, Mont., Walter Bukoveckas of Baldwin; a niece, Jean Ahearn of Lakeland, Fla.; great-nieces, Mindy Martin of Livermore, Sheena Bukoveckas of Dixfield; a great-great-niece, Angel Martin of Livermore; and a cousin, Paul and his wife, Bonnie, of Kentucky.
