LEWISTON – Alice M. Jacques, 85, of 52 Jenkins St., died Friday, April 15, at Russell Park Rehabilitation and Living Center.
Born in Turner, Jan. 16, 1920, a daughter of Dominique and Delia Gauthier Roy, she was educated in local schools.
She was married to Henry H. Jacques, and after 52 years of marriage, he passed away in 1991.
She was a former member of St. Mary’s Parish and worked as a dresser at Clark Shoe and Shapiro Bros. Shoe Co.
She enjoyed cooking and playing beano in her free time, but above all she loved her time spent with her grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Theresa Sirois and husband Marcel of Meza, Ariz., Lorraine Provencher and her husband, Joseph, of Sabattus; a son, Normand Jacques also of Meza, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Pauline Lapierre and husband, Raymond, of Auburn; a brother, Robert Roy of Florida.
She was predeceased by a son, Marcel Jacques, in 1942, and a sister, Irene Roy, in 1992.
