NORTH TURNER – Louiza Evelyn (Douvielle) Jones, 78, of North Turner, died at her residence on Saturday, April 16.

She was born in Portland, on May 23, 1926, the daughter of Arthur and Louiza (Colprit) Douvielle. She was educated in local schools and graduated from Pennell Institute in 1944.

She was a former Miss Maine Apple Queen in 1946. She married Norman F. Jones on June 20, 1964, and he died on July 31, 1998. She and her husband ran the Lone Pine Restaurant in Turner for many years.

She is survived by one son, Norman D. Jones of North Turner; one daughter, Luanne Jones of North Turner and her fianc, Steve LaPierre; three sisters, Patricia Tetrault of Georgia, Priscilla Knapp of Michigan and Joan Johnson of Portland; and one grandson, Rusty Hardesty and his wife, Sharon, of Poland.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Bonnie Hardesty; one brother, Ralph Douvielle; and one sister, Jeanette Wormell.
