RUMFORD – The Rumford Historical Society will meet Wednesday, April 20, in the Conference Room at the Municipal Building on Congress Street.

President Bill Weston will open the 7 p.m. meeting with business concerning the coming Oxford County Bicentennial. He will update the group on opportunities to help celebrate the event. There will be a need for volunteers on several occasions.

Town Manager Steve Eldridge will be the speaker for the evening. He will speak on some of his dreams for the town and listen to individuals who might share some of Rumford’s history as they have lived it. Refreshments will follow.

Wellness program

MEXICO – An eight-week wellness program, sponsored by the River Valley Healthy Communities will be offered at 5:15 p.m. Thursday, April 28, or 9:45 a.m. Friday, April 29, at the River Valley Wellness Center, 15 Recreation Drive. Registration is $10 and there is no fee if someone is a member of the River Valley Wellness Center or the Greater Rumford Community Center. Scholarships are also available.
