Dear Sun Spots: My mother submitted a request recently for broken mirrors and received a great response. I was hoping for the same.
I’m looking for someone to produce a professional looking video for me. (I instruct dance locally and would like to produce a “how to” video.) I have the choreography done and have looked all over the Internet and through the telephone books for someone local who does this, without much luck. I was hoping that a nearby college might offer some type of course along these lines and that I might possibly be able to have the students experiment with my ideas. Any help along these lines would be appreciated. I can be contacted at (207) 784-5671. Thank you! – Jen in Auburn.
Answer: In addition to responses from readers, Sun Spots wonders if you shouldn’t check in with the Media Department at either Bates College or Lewiston Auburn College to see if there are any students who might be able to assist you. You may reach Bates College, general information at (207) 786-6255, and USM at (207) 753-6500.
Dear Sun Spots: I have recently become a fan of Daniel O’Donnell through his PBS specials from Branson, Mo. Would it be possible for you to please find an address for him and Mary Duff? It would be greatly appreciated.
Answer: You might want to contact Daniel through Rachelle Schlosser Public Relations, One Ascan Ave., No. 32, Forest Hills, NY 11375. Contact: Rachelle Schlosser, (718) 268 8829, e-mail: [email protected]. According to his Web site, O’Donnell lives with his wife, Majella, in Kincasslagh, Donegal, Ireland and it might be worth trying to write to him there. If considering this, you could just address the letter to the O’Donnells, Kincasslagh, Donegal, Ireland. Knowing An Post, the post office in Ireland, Sun Spots is pretty sure the letter would be delivered with this minimal information.
Try contacting Mary Duff through her fan club at MDAS/Fan Club, 12 Kentmere Ave., Winsford, Cheshire CW7 2DW, England. You might also be interested in both their Web sites at www.danielodonnell.org and www.maryduff.co.uk.
Dear Sun Spots Readers: I am a fifth-grade student at Coronado Beach Elementary School in New Smyrna Beach, Fla. I have adopted your state as a class project. Please send me one postcard from your state. Please do not send me anything but a postcard. We are unable to accept letters or packages due to safety precautions. I am writing in hopes of getting a postcard from as many different people as possible. It would be great if some will take the time to write a short note on the postcard telling me something interesting or special about your state. Thanks, Thomas Day, 3550 Michigan Ave., New Smyrna Beach, FL 32169
I hope your readers can help me with my project. My classmates are also doing this project. Each of us has chosen a different state. I would like to become an expert on your state. Please accept my thanks in advance for your help. – Thomas Day, Florida.
