NEW YORK – Chan Ho Park pitched impressively into the seventh inning while Jaret Wright left early with yet another shoulder problem, and the Texas Rangers beat the New York Yankees 10-2 Saturday.

Mark Teixeira hit a pair of two-run homers and David Dellucci and Kevin Mench also connected for Texas. Laynce Nix added four of the Rangers’ 19 hits.

The Yankees dropped to 7-11 for their worst start since 1997, the last year they did not win the AL East.

Orioles 4, Blue Jays 1

TORONTO – Erik Bedard threw seven scoreless innings and Brian Roberts hit a leadoff homer in the Baltimore Orioles’ 4-1 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays.

Bedard, from Nevan, Ontario, pitched one of the best games of his career while his parents watched from the stands. The 26-year-old left-hander scattered seven hits and matched a career high for innings pitched.

Baltimore added three runs off Miguel Batista in the ninth on Jay Gibbons’ RBI grounder, Luis Matos’ sacrifice fly and Rafael Palmeiro’s RBI infield single.

White Sox 3, Royals 2

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Aaron Rowand singled in the go-ahead run in the 10th inning Saturday night and the Chicago White Sox beat the Kansas City Royals 3-2 for the best 18-game start in their 104-year history.

The White Sox, who improved to 14-4, have won a season-high six straight and eight of nine.
