NORWAY – Marjorie M. Sweeney, 96, of Marion Avenue, died Wednesday, April 27, at the Norway Rehabilitation and Living Center.

She was born in Albany, Aug. 3, 1908, the daughter of Walter E. and Sadie Henley Canwell. She attended Norway schools and was a 1928 graduate of Norway High School.

For several years she worked as a nurse’s aide.

After her marriage to Kermit Sweeney, she lived in Brunswick and moved to Topsham in 1959. She worked at a sawmill and area shoe shops. She enjoyed painting and gardening.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Shirley A. Delano; a son, Kenneth Cox Delano; two sisters, Edith Bird and Beatrice Dubay Chelluk; and a brother, Harold W. Canwell.
