PHILLIPS – Arthur G. Edmunds Sr., 92, of Phillips, died Tuesday, April 26, at Sandy River Center for Health Care and Rehabilitation in Farmington.
He was born Feb. 3, 1913, in Montville, son of George L. and Grace (Foster) Edmunds. He was educated in the schools of Morrill.
He owned his own car dealership and later owned and operated Edmunds excavation in Morrill until his retirement in 1975. He also worked for Belfast City Garage for many years.
He made his home in the Phillips area for the past 20 years moving from Morrill. He enjoyed speed sports, motorcycles and cars. He also enjoyed working and being with his family and scrapbooking.
He is survived by his son, Arthur Edmunds Jr. and his wife, Claire “Dube,” of Phillips; three daughters, Nancy Edmunds of Belfast, Phyllis Lamb and her husband, Charles, of Utah, and Mary Edmunds of Searsport; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a son, George Edmunds.
