NORWAY – Clyde H. West, Sr., 73, of Oxford, died Wednesday, April 27, at Stephens Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Cuptal, Maine, on Aug. 29, 1931, the son of Charles and Clara Brewer West. He attended Oxford schools and had been a woodsman all of his life.
He faithfully served his country in the U.S. Army in Korea.
He married Joanne Baker on Sept. 5, 2000.
He enjoyed poker and beano.
He is survived by his wife of Oxford; two sons, Clyde West Jr. and his wife, Siobhan, of South Paris, and Michael West and his wife, Debra, of Oxford; two stepdaughters, Debbie Kasevich of Norway, and Penny Mize of Georgia; three stepsons, Scott Strout of South Paris, Dean Strout of Massachusetts, and Randy Rugg of St. Petersburg, Fla.; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Dorothy, Ellie, Theresa and Beryl.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Elizabeth Smith West; a daughter, Cythia; and two brothers, Charles and George.
