HARRISON – Members of the Oxford Hills community will sponsor a dance party celebrating the ongoing process of creating a peaceful world. It will begin at 8 p.m. Saturday, May 7, in The Ballroom.

Creator of “IMAGINE … Dancing Peace” Aimee Moffitt-Mercer said, “In a time when we often feel so helpless and sometimes hopeless, this is a dance party in celebration of the collective power to create positive change.

“This evening of dancing can acknowledge our distress over the suffering of the world as well as offer us an opportunity to manifest our desire for hope and peaceful resolution through our own personal dance. We do have the ability to make change in our own lives, the life of our community and the world as a whole.”

The DJ music will offer a variety of music, including soft rock, hip-hop, reggae, techno and new age. The dance will end at 11 p.m.

This is a chem-free event, and The Ballroom’s policy of keeping the floor free of outdoor-wear shoes will be in effect (Bare feet or soft-sole dancing footwear is welcome.).

Donations will be asked for at the door.
