LIVERMORE – Mary Jane Merrow, 69, passed away Thursday, April 28, at her home surrounded by her family and a friend after a lengthy illness, which she fought with courage and determination.

She was born in Livermore Falls during the flood of 1936 on April 2, the daughter of Frank and Florence Merkle Merrill. She attended the schools of Livermore and Livermore Falls and lived in the area for her entire life.

On Dec. 27, 1952, she married Glen Merrow in North Livermore. She and her husband have resided on the Gibbs Mill Road in Livermore for the past 44 years.

For several years, she worked in local shoe shops and Wilson’s Department Stores, and also owned and operated “Cozy Cabin Gift Shop” in Livermore for 20 years.

She was a member of Gibbs Mill Road Baptist Church and volunteered for crafting during the Vacation Bible School.

She became a great-grandmother in 1997 and was lovingly referred to as Grammie “GG,” and cherished the many hours spent with her three great-grandchildren who live next door to her Gibbs Mill Road home.

She enjoyed crafts, bible studies, CB radio, and especially the time spent with family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Glen, of Livermore; a daughter, Terry Turcotte and her husband, Bruce, of Livermore; two sons, Arnold Merrow of Friendswood, Texas, and Scott Merrow and his wife, Heidi, of Derry, N.H.; a sister, Betty Bryant and her husband, David, of Jay; two grandchildren and their spouses, Jennifer and Michael, Morgan and Joel, and Jamie Turcotte, all of Livermore; and three great-grandchildren, Lindsay Morgan, Haley Turcotte and Abby Turcotte.
