SOUTH PARIS – Roger Gardner Gates, 94, of South Paris, died Wednesday, April 20, at Market Square Health Care Center.

He was born in Norway, on Feb. 16, 1911, the son of Chester Porter and Hortense Gregg Gates.

He faithfully served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He married Velita A. Whitman.

He worked at Cornwall Wood Products for many years.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in South Paris.

He was predeceased by his wife, Velita, on April 19, 2000.
