BRIDGTON – Malcolm “Nucky” Wilson, 75, of Lovell Road, Lovell, died at Bridgton Hospital on Thursday, April 28.

Nucky was born May 7, 1929, the son of Leland and Glenna McAlister Wilson. He was a lifelong resident of Lovell and attended local schools.

He was road commissioner for the town of Lovell for 35 years, retiring in 1994. Nucky served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953 and was based in Alabama and Alaska.

He was the former fire chief of Lovell, a forest warden, a former member of the Masonic Lodge and Lovell Lions Club, served as a Maine guide and was Little League coach for many years.

Nucky worked for the Fryeburg Fair, grading the race track, and enjoyed horse racing, hunting, fishing and telling a good story.

Surviving family includes his companion, Helen Doucette, of Lovell; two sons, Robert Wilson and his wife, Tammy, of Fryeburg, and the Rev. Neil Wilson and his wife, Donna, of Bluffton, Ind.; five daughters, Kathryn and her husband, Richard Dunham, of Center Lovell, Madeline and her husband, Douglas Grover, of Center Lovell, Mary Lizabeth Wilson of Camden, Sylvia and her husband, Edward Morris, of Lebanon, and Carol and her husband, Ian Smith, of Cumberland Center; a brother, Enfield Wilson of Center Lovell; 18 grandchildren; and one great-grandson. He will also be greatly missed by Helen’s daughters, Deborah and her husband, Jeffrey Kustron, of New Gloucester, and Donna Doucette of Harrison. Sadie will miss him too.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Kenneth and Leland Wilson Jr.
